Get a child in need a pair of shoes for free
Reality shows are not going anywhere. Actually, it seems as if the more we dislike them the more of them we get. They are like a plague that has seeped into and eternally infected the TV landscape.
Some shows just appear from nowhere, but others are spin-offs of existing shows. It is bad enough to have to watch Jersey Shore, but for that show to spawn another is really pushing the reality TV envelope. But it is happening, and that is what we are about to look at.
Introducing Snooki & JWoww, a new reality show coming to your screens. Named after the lead characters, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley (those nicknames should be illegal), the show is a spin-off of Jersey Shore where the pair were first featured.
So essentially if you liked Jersey Shore, and these two in particular, you are in for a treat.
But, if you felt bile rising in your throat whenever you saw the show, things are only going to get worse for you, I’m afraid.
We follow Polizzi and Farley who have decided to live together in Jersey City. Polizzi is pregnant and Farley is helping her with her health issues.
As two women staying under one roof, you know there is bound to be drama and, let’s face it, this is what gives this type of show the clout it has. But it doesn’t blind us from the fact that this is still Jersey Shore, only watered down.
There are fewer characters here but they are still based in New Jersey. It is like remixing a bad song, chances are it will only get worse. On the bright side, at least we will not miss the silly comments of Michael “The Situation” Sorrentino. But the narcissism will come from the ladies.
The first episode of Snooki & JWoww is titled Sorry Neighbours, Cause These B****es Are Moving In and that already spells trouble. Only, who really cares about them moving in?
Who cares about their drama-scripted lives and bad acting?
Who even cares how long this relationship is going to last?
You probably do. If so, then be happy that this season you are watching was recorded this year so you are getting it as early as possible.
• Snooki & JWoww premieres tonight at 8pm on MTV (DStv channel 321).
