Blighted by fantastical fearmongering for centuries, dragons are finally getting some good press, thanks to films like “How to Train Your Dragon”. That blockbuster animated film, which featured the voice-acting of Hollywood stars Gerard Butler and Jonah Hill, raked in around $500-million in worldwide box-office sales. Now, it’s success has lead to the creation of a spin-off TV series called ‘Dreamworks Dragons: Riders of Berk’, which will be aired on Cartoon Network.
‘Riders of Berk’ continues where ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ left off. On the Viking island of Berk, fans of the film will be reunited with Hiccup and his dragon, Toothless. Hiccup and his friends, who now all have dragons of their own, set off on adventures in which they discover new worlds, and are forced to battle against new enemies. Through theirs trials, Hiccup and his friends will also get to know more about their dragons and develop special bonds with them.
Fans who would like to watch DreamWorks Dragons: Riders of Berk should look out for the show starting on television screens on Cartoon Network, DSTV channel 301, on Tuesday 5 March at 5:25pm. After this, all DreamWorks Dragons fans will be able to catch the new series every Tuesday at 5:25pm with repeats Wednesdays at 7am and the following Monday at 7am & 5:25pm. Repeats will also be shown on Saturday’s & Sunday’s at 10am & 2:35pm.
