Ever since man learnt about the solar system and how vast the galaxy is, we have had one question on our minds: is there another life form out there?
Cult flicks like Star Wars and Star Trek have for decades cashed in on the possible answers to this question. What do you believe? There is no one but us? If so, why do we only have life on Earth when there are so many other planets?
The subject always has the religious up in arms against the scientists.
Christians believe if there were aliens, surely the book of Genesis would have mentioned Adam and Eve’s cousins on Pluto or Mercury. Scientists then counter that line of reasoning by presenting physical “evidence”.
And this is what Ancient Aliens is about. Unexplained evidence of alien existence on our home planet as old as 75 million years ago will be made public on this show. The information will try to convince us that there have been alien landings a gazillion years ago.
That kind of makes the script for Independence Day a bit more believable, right?
But where does this hype come from? Some believe from historical monuments such as the Egyptian pyramids where the artwork there included some unexplained beings historians concluded were aliens. The same is said to be true for the paintings found globally on stone age rocks.
Still, methinks it would be great to have a human-like rib cage perfectly preserved somewhere in the Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania and next to it a half-corroded UFO. Wouldn’t that be something?
Anyway, if it is true there are aliens out there and they once came here, then chances are they are coming back. If they do, what would you expect? I know guys would prefer the V species of flawless women, with an accent that only suggests one obvious thing.
The ladies would possibly be more interested in knowing if the visitors have an age-preservation technology or trendy fashion tips.
But that is just generalising. The question is: what would you expect if you heard a spaceship had crashed in your neighbour’s yard?
Let the information gathered on Ancient Aliens guide you in what to hope for when the flying saucers land.
lAncient Aliens premieres this Sunday on the History Channel at 8.30pm.
