The Arts and Culture Trust (ACT) and Nedbank Arts Affinity (NAA) have announced the list of professional development projects that will receive grants from the trust. For the past 20 years ACT, with the support of NAA, has been supporting and promoting sustainable business and careers in the arts. The professional development programme supports the development of reliable, sustainable and vibrant arts in South Africa and is designed to support job opportunities, develop arts organisations, associations and collective art practitioners. Told through the eyes of Sam’s mother, Patricia, it tracks the young romance when 24-year-old Oscar Pistorius met her 17-year-old daughter, Sam, and became part of the Taylor family’s close circle. The next two-and-a-half years would become a roller-coaster ride as Pistorius’s growing celebrity, emotional fragility, broken promises and recklessness consumed the Taylor family.
