The South African State Theatre is offering theatre practitioners the chance to stage their work at its portable theatre space, the Momentum Theatre, and other spaces, October to March 2017. The theatre is looking to fill slots for children’s theatre; schools set-works; cutting-edge drama, dance and musical shows and whatever genre is interesting. Competitions:

The Imbewu Trust’s 2015 SCrIBE Scriptwriting Competition entries are open. It is a platform for writers to have their work developed with various prizes including a run at a Cape Town theatre and the opportunity to receive feedback at a week of staged readings with audience and industry professionals. Scripts should be in English, no longer than 40 pages or 80 minutes long with a maximum of five cast members. The judges are looking for original content of outstanding quality that share the diverse range of South African stories. Deadline for submission is Friday. NEA Adjudicators Forum Workshop

The National Eisteddfod Academy (NEA) invite established and aspiring adjudicators to apply to join its Adjudicators’ Forum. Adjudicators are needed in the performing art genres of classical and contemporary music, dance and drama, as well as indigenous arts. If you are passionate about the arts, enjoy working with children and value the arts for building self-esteem and confidence in our youth, then the NEA’s call for adjudicators is for you.
