L’Atelier season is approaching. Now in its 29th year, Absa l’Atelier continues to recognise and reward the skills, talent and imagination that exists in an extremely competitive and often challenging environment as well as presenting an opportunity to artists to showcase their talents and embark on new and exciting opportunities.

Assemblage is pleased to announce the offering of five bursary places for studios made possible by The African Art Trusts for this year and next. In order to be considered for a bursary, please e-mail [email protected] with:

• A one-page motivation letter, which must detail how you intend to spend your year at the Assemblage Studios and how a bursary would help you to achieve your goal of being an artist;

• A proposal of what you will give back to the visual arts community during your bursary year. This can be in the form of organising a workshop, a talk, an exhibition, etc;

• Full CV ( with at least two references);

• An artistic statement;

• 10 images of your work.

We also offer spaces and support facilities for visual artists in Joburg, we seek to be a sustainable artist-run centre, especially for those who are seeking an artistic community to work in.
