Auditions

BTE VO1SS (The Black Tie Ensemble) has open auditions for all voice types on December 7 at the State Theatre, Pretoria, from 10am till 4pm. It will be for positions: 2013 BTE VO1SS artists, members of the BTE VO1SS academy and members of the BTE VO1SS opera chorus. Potential artists/trainee or chorus members must have matriculated, must prepare one aria or song and bring the sheet music with them in order for the provided accompanist to accompany on piano. BTE VO1SS vacancy for accompanist/repetiteur /coach to accompany singers on piano/ keyboard, be a repetiteur for opera products, coach singers in opera, operetta, musicals and light classical songs. For next year’s celebration of the 25th anniversary of Dance Umbrella, Dance Forum invites choreographers to submit proposals for residencies of at least one month’s duration at the Dance Space, Newtown, between February and July. The forum aims to host a series of at least four residency programmes at the Dance Space that will include: the creation of a new work by the resident choreographer; the resident choreographer will have to give at least two masterclasses during the period of residency; the choreographer will have to agree to premiere the work created at the Dance Umbrella 2013 as part of the outcome of the process; the work may not exceed 40 minutes. A leading South African contemporary dance company under the directorship of award-winning artist PJ Sabbagha will be auditioning for one female full-time professional contemporary dancer for next year.The Forgotten Angle Theatre Collaborative is looking to employ one female professional with at least five years’ professional work experience in the dance industry or equivalent tertiary level training in contemporary dance.
