GIG OF THE WEEK

YFM Annual Youth Party

The Blue Room, Old Park Station, Joburg (tonight)

• To be featured in the Gig Guide, fax all your gig-related information to Clare Braun at 012 328 7166 or e-mail the details to [email protected] by noon on the Wednesday prior to the Friday of publication.

For some, celebrating Youth Day is just a 24-hour affair, but with YFM the party goes on for a month. Just when you thought Youth Month was over, the popular youth station is bringing you a party to remember until June next year.

The theme of the party is King of Thrones and you are encouraged to come in as-close-to-royal-attire as possible. Yup, Game of Thrones fans will not have an issue in this.

The station, which has been doing a series of its Youth Month festivities on radio, now switches to the live music performances to give its listeners an unforgettable experience.

The line-up: Sama-winner AKA, rapper Khuli Chana, current “it” girl Toya Delazy, the new kids on the block, The Muffinz, Teargas and their Cashtime Fam protégés and DJ Cleo and his Teddybears.

Other acts to look out for will include YFM’s Ms Cosmo, Shimza, Just Mo, Josi Chave and Zan-D, whom we all know as party deities. The cherry on top will be Durban’s finest, DJ Tira, on the decks.

Be at The Blue Room (Old Park Station), Jozi, tonight from 8.30pm. R100 before 10pm, R150 thereafter. – Munyaradzi Vomo
