HERITAGE THEATRE: Back by popular demand, The King & Queen runs at The Heritage from tonight to March 11. The tribute show to Elvis Presley and Freddy Mercury sees great party songs, such as Hound Dog, Jailhouse Rock, Heartbreak Hotel, Blue Suede Shoes and We Will Rock You, Killer Queen, Another One Bites the Dust, Bohemian Rhapsody and more take centre stage once again. With comical references to the mischief of the British royals, and featuring the greatest hits from two of the planet’s greatest artists, the show will have lots to sing and clap along to.
It features John Didlick (of Gee Jays fame), his son, Jonothan, as well as Durban actress and singer Marion Loudon, backed by Dawn Selby (keyboards), Barry Thomson (guitar), Mally Sewell (drums) and Jason Andrew (bass). Promotional specials today, tomorrow and Thursday, when tickets for the meal and show are available on a buy-one-get-one-free basis. VARIOUS VENUES ACROSS KZN: The touring comedy show Beauty and the Charou: Double Trouble… of the Laughing Kind. A cross-cultural comedy revolution as comedians Beauty Ramapelepele and the Karou Charou join forces on stage. Ramapelepele describes herself as the perfect South African weapon – a black, bright, beautiful, bitchy woman at the top of her business and social game. The charismatic Karou brings his brash, unapologetic style of comedy to the table, laced with expletives and trademark forays into the audience. The show format will see both artists perform their own stand-up sets before joining forces in a routine which will involve audience interaction. The age restriction is 13 (language).
