GIG OF THE WEEK:

Unlimited dusi vally bash

Inanda Dam (tonight)

Singer Tommy Lawson will perform |at the Unlimited Dusi Valley Bash at Inanda Dam tonight. This year’s Dusi will be different, with Lawson playing a combination of old tracks and new songs he’s been working on.

“They can expect fun and good music. I am also working on my first original album,” he said.

The muso recorded his World Cup CD which was released as the Castle Lager Back The Boys in 2007.

Lawson was the lead vocalist of the band Photograph and toured the world with them. But when the band split, he embarked on his solo career and per-forms at corporate and major sport events.

Lawson has also performed with an orchestra, but does not plan to dazzle the crowd with any orchestral music: “I always wanted to work with an orchestra, but I am not planning to do it any time soon. I just want to focus on producing some original work.”

Having performed for the world, Lawson has taken time off to perform for an intimate audience in his home country.

The event will be held at Msinsi Resort and the line-up will include DJ Shuga and Clint & Co. The show starts at 5pm. For more info, call 082 920 4213. |– Khosi Biyela
