lRHUMBELOW THEATRE: Suspects of Love (aka Aspects of Love) featuring Derek Pearce, Greg Baptie, Roland Stansell and Alan Quihampton, is a comical lip sync drag show that looks at the ups and downs of love. lCOURTYARD THEATRE: Dr Pamela Tancsik directs a compilation of five knock-about absurdist comedy sketches from cult Bavarian writer Karl Valentin. Valentin wrote scripts, films, skits and cabaret in 1920s Bavaria. His comic genius inspired and influenced generations of writers, performers, physical theatre practitioners and comedians. Valentin’s work has been translated from the German by Tancsik and edited by Gisele Turner. Karl Valentin in Africa will present a poignant insight into the timeless genre of absurdist theatre. Runs from February 23 to March 1, with performances starting at 7pm. R35 at the door.
lSTABLE THEATRE: Inkonyane Engegama (The Calf With No Name), a heart-warming new children’s stage play, run daily on March 12 to 16, at 10am. Created by award-winning writer Clinton Marius, the play has been translated into Zulu and directed by Mpume Mthombeni. The story traces the journey a Zulu boy must take to set right a wrong he has done. Features Sifiso Cele, Musa Ntuli, Noluthando Kubeka and Qaphela Makhoba.
