THE STABLE THEATRE: All Gone is a true-life drama co-scripted by Thami Sikhosana and Bongani Mbatha, directed by Sikhosana and starring Mbatha. It ends Sunday. The one-hander with a strong moral message reflects on how people miss the chance to make a better life for themselves. Schools performances:10am and noon, Monday to Wednesday, today to Thursday. HERITAGE THEATRE: The Glitter Girls return for a short season from today to March 30. Stars Lisa Bobbert, Liesl Coppin and Marion Loudon. With songs from the ‘80s to today and hits from Banarama, The Eurythmics, Rihanna, One Direction and Abba. Witness the Glitter Girls re-live their triumphs, trials and heartbreaks. THE PLAYHOUSE: Think Theatre’s production of Shakespeare’s Othello ends March 20. The production will then tour to Gauteng for a return season at the University of Johannesburg from May 5 to 16, followed by a run at the Brooklyn Theatre in Pretoria from May 18 to 22. Directed by Clare Mortimer, Durban Theatre Award-winner Nhlakanipho Manqele takes the title role for the first time, playing opposite fellow newcomer, Cara Roberts, as Desdemona. Also starring Clinton Small as Iago and Mortimer as his wife Emilia, with Michael Gritten, Daisy Spencer, Marc Kay, Bryan Hiles, Rowan Bartlett and Darren King. DURBAN ICC: The award-winning British comedian and master of the edgy one-liner, Jimmy Carr, has teamed up with Comedy Central and Real Concerts for his new stand-up show Jimmy Carr – Gagging Order on March 31. Known for his signature laugh and near-the-knuckle dark humour, Carr knows how to make people chuckle, having performed live to more than 1.5 million comedy fans, sold more than 1 000 000 DVDs and hosted countless TV shows. Gagging Order promises to be an hilarious night out, packed with one-liners, stories and jokes: some clever, some rude and a few downright unacceptable! THE PLAYHOUSE: Classic ballet masterpieces performed to music by top French composers is what South African audiences will experience when Crown of the Russian Ballet tours the country this year. The innovative Moscow Theatre company will perform two shows only, on May 20 and 21, at 7.30pm. The programme celebrates masterpieces of French music in ballet, including Camille Saint Saens’s Dying Swan, Jacques Brel’s Don’t Leave Me and Ravel’s Bolero. Also on the programme are George Bizet’s one-act ballet Carmen and the pas de deux from Le Corsaire. R150 to R280 at Computicket. Early booking is advised.
