THE PLAYHOUSE: Mashu: The Musical is based on a true event that took place in the community between 1994 and1995, a time of much violence in KwaMashu’s L section. It tells of the trials of two brothers who are caught up in the madness that shattered the lives of this community. The cast includes Wiseman Ncube and Mthokozisi Zulu as the leads and Thabo Mnguni, who is known for his role as Bra Steve on SABC1’s Family Bonds. Stages from tomorrow to Sunday. Book at Computicket. SIBAYA CASINO: The Michael Jackson HIStory Show is set to launch its new production, Thriller, with a three-week season at the Izulu Theatre in Durban from Thursday to April 6. THE PLAYHOUSE: Audiences will be given a window into the world of Russian culture when Crown of the Russian Ballet’s 175th Tchaikovsky Anniversary Celebrations graces stages on April 28 and 29 at 7.30pm. The programme opens with the world premiere, the company’s artistic director Anatoly Emelianov’s new production of one of Tchaikovsky’s masterpieces, the one-act ballet, Manfred. The second half features two favourites – a suite from The Sleeping Beauty featuring the original Marius Petipa choreography and the one-act Romeo and Juliet choreographed by Emelianov.
