ELIZABETH SNEDDON THEATRE: Flatfoot Dance Company present days like these, a season of innovative dance to lure, cajole, amuse, provoke and entertain. With a one-week run from tomorrow to Sunday, it’s not to be missed. Durban-based choreographer, Lliane Loots has asked the six resident Flatfoot dancers and co-collaborators on this dance work (Sifiso Majola, Tshediso Kabulu, Sifiso Khumalo, Jabu Siphika, Julia Wilson and Zinhle Nzama) to go even deeper into this physical and spoken word storytelling to create the choreography around a dance theatre work that takes everyday memories and begins to celebrate the sacred of what we might feel is the commonplace of our lives. Thursday’s show at 7.30pm features an after-show talk hosted by arts journalist Adrienne Sichel in conversations with Loots and the dancers. R85 for adults, R50 for students, pupils and pensioners. CATALINA THEATRE: Slipped Through My Fingers, a new dance drama written and directed by Verne Rowin Munsamy and choreographed by Sivani Chinappan, who performs alongside hearing-impaired dancer Cindy Naidoo Baijoo, stages until Sunday. The show is about a mother/daughter relationship that tries to survive discrimination. It is a heart-wrenching story of love lost and regained through the power of dance. The show uses classical Indian dance and poetry to bridge the language barrier that exists between mother and daughter. COMING UP

THE PLAYHOUSE: Audiences will be given a window into the world of Russian culture when Crown of the Russian Ballet’s 175th Tchaikovsky Anniversary Celebrations graces stages on April 28 and 29 at 7.30pm. The programme opens with the world premiere, the company’s artistic director Anatoly Emelianov’s new production of one of Tchaikovsky’s masterpieces, the one-act ballet, Manfred. The second half features two favourites – a suite from The Sleeping Beauty featuring the original Marius Petipa choreography and the one-act Romeo and Juliet choreographed by Emelianov.
