WINSTON CHURCHILL THEATRE (PMB): The Department of Arts and Culture in conjunction with Polart Productions presents Bhagwan Gave Me This Life, a play in Hindi, written and directed by Vivian Moodley. It runs from tomorrow to Sunday and is performed by Pranesh Maharaj. Set in 1981 in Inanda, the story is about a widower whom we meet at a turning point in his existence as he looks back on his life. It is suitable for all ages. Book at Computicket.

CATALINA THEATRE: For Better or Worse stages until Sunday. This Dingalings production centres on three generations of Indian women whose lives are intertwined by their marriages to three brothers. They are thrust together over a weekend when their husbands go on a fishing trip. What transpires threatens their relationships and marriages. Directed by comedian and actor Koobeshen Naidoo, the play features Kumseela Naidoo, Verushka Odayen and Madhu Maharaj. 8pm on Friday and Saturday, 6pm on Sunday. THE PLAYHOUSE: Classic ballet masterpieces performed to music by top French composers is what audiences will experience when the Crown of the Russian Ballet perform on May 20 and 21 at 7.30pm. The programme includes Camille Saint Saens’s Dying Swan, Jacques Brel’s Don’t Leave Me, Ravel’s Bolero, George Bizet’s one-act ballet Carmen and the pas de deux from Le Corsaire. The rags-to-riches story of everybody’s favourite orphan, Annie, features Lisa Bobbert as the hilariously villainous Miss Hannigan, Steven Stead as Miss Hannigan’s wicked brother, Daniel “Rooster” Hannigan; Iain “Ewok” Robinson as billionaire Daddy Warbucks; Jessica Sole as Grace Farrel, Daddy Warbucks’s secretary; and Belinda Henwood as Lily St Regis, Rooster’s rather trashy girlfriend. Sarah Donkin from uMhlanga and Berea’s Luca Tarboton join forces to play the darling red head.
