THE PLAYHOUSE: Classic ballet masterpieces set to music by top French composers are in store for audiences when the Crown of the Russian Ballet performs today and tomorrow at 7.30pm. The works range from Camille-Saint Saens’s The Dying Swan, Jacques Brel’s Don’t Leave Me and Maurice Ravel’s Bolero to Georges Bizet’s Carmen. RHUMBELOW THEATRE (PMB AND DURBAN): Audiences can look forward to mind-blowing illusions, magic, stand-up comedy, participation and laughter with illusionist Ricki Gray and magician Stephen Cloete. Gray has performed for Queen Elizabeth II and Cloete has worked as entertainer and cruise director on luxury cruise ships in the US, UK and South Africa. Abra-Viagra stages Friday to June 1 at the Rhumbelow Theatre in Durban; Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 6.30pm with an additional show at 2pm on June 1. ELIZABETH SNEDDON THEATRE: The production company KickstArt presents the musical Annie from Friday to June 15. The rags-to-riches story of everybody’s favourite orphan, Annie, features Lisa Bobbert as the hilariously villainous Miss Hannigan; Steven Stead as Miss Hannigan’s wicked brother, Daniel “Rooster” Hannigan; Iain “Ewok” Robinson as billionaire Daddy Warbucks; Jessica Sole as Grace Farrel; and Belinda Henwood as Lily St Regis, Rooster’s rather trashy girlfriend.
