BARNYARD THEATRE, Gateway: Ending May 26 is Glory Days. The evening is centred on a hilarious computer nerd called Wally, who wants to become a rock star just like his hero, Bruce Springsteen. Wally takes you on his musical journey as he transforms into a singing geek with hits by Richard Marx, Rick Astley and Boy George. He is also joined by the smooth Lionel Ritchie, divas Gloria Gaynor, Shirley Bassey and Tina Turner and artists such as Stevie Wonder, Sir Elton John, Bon Jovi, UB40 and more. Scripted by Ian von Memerty, Wally is brought to life by Tian Rautenbach. THE PLAYHOUSE: Nkosiyabona Zungu’s Long Way to Go stages until Sunday. The a cappella drama is set in KZN and looks at the history of Umkhonto We Sizwe (MK), the role it played in our country’s transition, and the challenges facing veterans in a democratic South Africa. Zungu does this through a plot centred on the character Jobe (Sandile Dlamini) and three of his comrades who return from exile to find themselves unemployed and unemployable.
