GIG OF THE WEEK

Jeremy Loops Music at the Lake

Durban Botanic Gardens (tomorrow)

DURBANITES are in for a treat this weekend as Cape Town musician Jeremy Loops will perform at the Botanic Gardens Music at the Lake tomorrow.

A press release states that his lively performances rely on crowd participation as well as skilled collaborators, such as vocalist and rapper Motheo Moleko and Jamie Faull on saxophone and drums.

Inspired by legends such as Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan, but bringing a distinctly modern twist to his folk sound, Loops’ ingenious sonic mash-ups will blow you away.

The press release further states that Loops’ recently released debut album, Trading Change, has been enthusiastically received – and now Durban audiences can experience a true original in action during a sunset picnic concert at the idyllic Botanical Gardens.

“Autumn in Durban is a glorious time of year, perfect for families to enjoy the natural beauty of the gardens while taking in a music act who is as original as he is remarkable,” says Bandile Mngoma, the sponsorship manager for Old Mutual.

“This concert with the multi-talented Jeremy Loops is set to be a truly memorable one.” – Tonight Reporter

• Book at www.webtickets.co.za for R150 or R170 at the gate on the day of the concert. Children aged 8 to 12 pay R60; under-8s get in free.
