COMEDY giants Goliath and Goliath are bringing the funny to Pietermaritzburg this weekend when they launch the first show of their national tour.

Aweh Mzanzi: Goliath and Friends stages at Golden Horse Casino on Saturday and boasts a line-up of top acts.

The line-up features Donovan David Goliath, Nicholas Goliath and Jason Goliath with Alfred Julian Adriaan and Richelieu Beaunoir.

Tonight spoke with Beaunoir, who is originally from Durban and since relocating to Joburg has teamed up with the Goliaths for a few major gigs. He said the show will bring an array of comedy flavours to the table.

“I’m from Durban so I bring that Durban vibe. Donovan is from Umtata, Nicholas and Jason are from Joburg and Alfred is from Port Elizabeth. So the show is a blend of all our different styles and takes on life.”

Having worked with Goliath and Goliath since 2012, and now considered part of the big comedy family, Beaunoir will host the show, bringing his usual spunk and fun to party.

“I think the success of the Goliath brand is that they’ve decided to do everything on a grand scale. Their slogan is that if you do something, be awesome about it. When they have an idea or a dream they pursue it and are awesome about it. No half measures.”

Tickets are available at R150 each through Computicket.

Considered the “coming out party” of these comedians, the Aweh Mzanzi tour is scheduled to stage on April 2 at The Lyric Theatre in Joburg after which it will tour the country, including a stop over in Durban.
