GIG OF THE WEEK
Wouter Kellerman is regarded by many as a true cross-over artist who thrives on experimenting with shades, textures and colours on his capable flute.
He is one of the country’s most adventurous world music musicians and is a contemporary flute player who maintains a fluid and progressive sound by working with a variety of influences and styles.
Some might remember him from his performance at the 2010 World Cup closing ceremony and he’s won SA Music Awards for Best Jazz/Instrumental/Popular/ Classical DVD and Best Instrumental Album for Two Voices. So expect a brew of multicultural treats at his show taking place at the Atterbury Theatre (Lynnwood Bridge) this Sunday.
His live performances are supercharged and he will be joined by an ensemble of great artists, including Phresh Makhene on the bass and vocals; David Klassen on percussion; Luke van der Merwe on the guitar; Busisiwe Monareng on backing vocals; and Nomso Tollie and Jaconell Mouton on keyboards.
