• Arts writer and artist, Clayton Campbell, will discuss a participatory photographic project, Words We Have Learned Since 9/11, as part of the Gordon Institute for Performing and Creative Arts’ Great Texts/Big Questions public lecture series. • Oscar and The Pink Lady runs from July 29 to August 23 at The Baxter Golden Arrow Studio. The endearing tale of the young cancer patient, Oscar, and Aunt Rose, who guides him with humour and imagination through his last days.7.30pm. R120 at Computicket.

• Desire Under the Elms ends Saturday at the Baxter Golden Arrow Studio. Eugene O’Neill is considered the father of modern American drama. This production transposes O’Neill’s New England setting to the Eastern Cape in the 1890s. • Fishers of Hope runs until August 2 at the Baxter Theatre. Set along the lakes of Kenya, Lara Foot’s play explores the theme of hope: its essence, its longevity and its possible demise.7.30pm. R120 at Computicket.

• Slowly runs until August 3 at the Artscape Arena. As invading barbarians approach the palace of a decaying culture, four princesses debate their fate. 7pm. R80 at Computicket.

• The Shadow of the Hummingbird ends Saturday at The Fugard Theatre. Written, directed and starring Athol Fugard, who returns to the stage this year after an absence of 15 years and plays opposite Marviantos Baker in this intimate, delicate two-hander. 8pm. R130 to R150 at Computicket.
