l The ninth Annual World Aids Day Gala Concert at Artscape Opera House features the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Mario Verster and performing with director, producer and performer, Jimmie Earl Perry, South African international divas Hanneli Rupert (mezzo-soprano) and Janelle Visagie (soprano), The New Apostolic Church Cape Choir, Amy Campbell, Lauren Laing, Lana Crowster, Rouchelle Liedemann and tenor Ivan Siegelaar. Choreographer/dancer Hope Maimane of the Waterfront Theatre Company will perform Umfazi We Ndoda (Wife of a Man) with Claire Boswell and Evan Livesly. Additional musicians include Andrew Ford (piano), Shaun Johannes (bass), Kevin Gibson (drums) and Aldert du Toit (guitar). Wolfgang Riebe, international motivational speaker and illusionist, is the MC. l Anele Rusi’s iSystem, directed by Fatima Dike, is being performed as part of the Spring Drama Festival at Artscape Arena. A policeman is accused of shooting an unarmed, innocent bystander.
