Answer: Yes. Assuming you want as short a flight and as low a price as possible, the best bet is Egypt: either the Red Sea resort of Hurghada or the Nile city of Luxor.
My preference is for Luxor: you will have the archaeological wonders of Karnak and the Valley of the Kings – both very close by – almost to yourself.
You will also be able to enjoy the January sun and the markets and restaurants of a friendly, relaxed city.
If that doesn’t appeal, then I suggest Malta or the Canaries. But neither is as sun-sure as Egypt.
