Durban has wrapped up another successful Tourism Indaba and looks forward to being host city for the next five years.
This year's show saw more than 7 000 delegates from across the African continent showcasing their products.
Hosting the event continues to be a major plus for the tourism sector, having pumped more than R2.6 billion into the economy in the 26 years it has been held in Durban.
EThekwini Mayor, Zandile Gumede, said she was ecstatic about winning the global event until 2022. “This is an affirmation that the City has the resources, the world-class infrastructure and the capabilities of growing the Tourism Indaba to new heights."
