“We are looking to make of the new Durban Cruise Terminal a world-class facility capable of receiving cruise ships of latest generation.

“Our aim is to immediately establish Durban as a credible cruise destination recognized globally so that we can attract cruise holiday makers from all over the world. The new Cruise Terminal will become their first point of contact with the city and a gateway towards the rest of South Africa," he said.

“Finally,” he concluded, “as a private public partner we look forward to making of this partnership the blueprint for the future development of other ports under the National Port Act.”

Under the terms of the bid, KCT will be responsible for the design, financing, construction, operation, maintenance and transfer of the Durban Cruise Terminal facility for a 25 year concession period.
