London - In a world where the fear of missing out (Fomo), bleeds into all areas of life, it’s hard to keep up with everything.

If you’re out visiting the latest holiday hot spot, how can you stay in and catch the cult TV series everyone’s talking about?

To overcome this First World quandary, Samsung has launched The Catch Up Grant initiative to send one lucky applicant on the trip-of-a-lifetime to the Tikse Gompa Monastery, in the Himalayas, for the ultimate TV binge-watcher’s retreat.

Tapping into the trend for viewing multiple TV episodes back-to-back, Samsung has designed The Catch-up Grant to give one person an experience of total uninterrupted isolation, to immerse themselves in their favourite programmes.

The grant recipient will be sent to the Tikse Gompa Monastery, which is located at 3 600 altitude in the Indus Valley.

At the lofty mountain idyll, one of Samsung’s new SUHD TVs has been installed so that the winner can catch up on all of their favourite TV series in full HD.

And to further ensure that the winner isn’t missing out on anything while at their retreat, Samsung will pay them up to 100 days worth of monetary compensation for the time spent catching up on their entertainment package.

Henrik Lethagen, marketing manager at Samsung explained why the initiative was unveiled: “A common topic of conversation nowadays is ‘the fear of missing out’. We don’t have time to keep up with episodes of all the fantastic series out there, and the fear of being left behind in the ongoing pop culture conversation becomes a source of stress.

“The Catch-up Grant is here to help those in need.”

The trip has been designed, Samsung says in its campaign, “to aid those unfortunate enough to have fallen behind in today’s popular culture and conversation”.

At the mountain retreat, the winning applicant is provided with their basic needs, spiritual guidance plus the new 65’ curved screen Samsung TV.

Although applications have now closed for the Nordic grant, the winner can look forward to enjoying the Himalayan trip-of-a-lifetime without missing out on everything screening on television back home.
