Johannesburg - The 2016 Outdoor Expo promises to be a day out for the entire family and takes place at the Waterfall Polo Estate in Midrand next weekend.

The array of 4x4s, caravans, tents, outdoor accessories and holiday ideas on offer over the three-day event are sure to keep the anticipated crowd yearning for a fresh-air escape.

Families can explore, plan and even book for their next holiday with exclusive offers.

They can also enjoy live entertainment, fabulous food and a farmer’s market offering craft beer and artisanal meals.

With a focus on adventure holidays and the tools to make the most of the outdoor lifestyle, the show will offer all-day variety including eco-speakers and live rugby transmission (next Saturday, Stormers v Cheetahs at 3pm and Bulls v Lions at 5pm).

Lovers of 4x4s can bring their vehicles and drive an exciting 1.5km-long track, the longest at any exhibition in South Africa. The 4-Wheel Drive Club of SA has created a challenging ride for enthusiasts to experience their own vehicle or enjoy some of the latest brands at the show, with an experienced instructor showing the capabilities of their products.

Virgin Active will be hosting the Sunday Fun Ride. Registration for the ride will be at the Expo at 6.30am.

The ride is being held to promote cycling safety, and entrants are encouraged to wear lime green to create awareness and make a statement. It’s a 20km ride open to the whole family and any type of bike. Entries cost R70 per bike and the ride will start at 7.30am.

The traditional Sunday 1km puppy trail and 2km dog walk starts at 8.30pm (registration from 7.30am) and entry includes access to the show area.

The Speakers Corner will feature a number of key speakers.
