  1. Feeling bullish: A sculpture depicting a bull and a bear at the site of the original Joburg Stock Exchange, in the area once known as Between the Chains, an outdoor trading floor that was used once the building became too small.
  2. Old stope: Three floors below the Standard Bank Centre in Simmonds Street you can visit an old stope, once part of the Ferreira Gold Mining Company Ltd.
  3. GOLDEN OLDIE: This 10-ton stamp battery at Gold Reef City, one of many reminders of Joburgs past, was used in the gold mines in the 1880s. PICTURES: VIVIEN HORLER
