Durban - Garden Lovers will be able to wander around 20 gardens in the KZN Midlands at an open gardens event that runs from mid-September to mid-November.

Gardens are mainly in Hilton and many farm gardens hidden in the valleys and hills will be on show.

Other areas with open gardens include Balgowan, Nottingham Road, Curry’s Post, Lidgetton, Karkloof and Rosetta.

The differing climates will ensure there is always something to see, but many gardens will be at their peak in October.

At the end of October, the Midlands Rose Society plays host to the Rosa National Rose Convention.

There will be a marquee at Piggly Wiggly, near Howick, open to the public.

The website below has addresses of the gardens, where to eat, where to stay and how to get to where you are going, as well as shopping on the Meander.

Tickets are R50. This will give you entry to all gardens and are available at the Harcourts Hilton office or at the entrance to any garden on show.
