  1. Having dragged her mammoth body up the beach and laid her clutch of eggs, the leatherback ensures the nest is well protected by covering it tightly with sand.
  2. Each female lays about 100 eggs in each nest, with a few tasteless decoys being laid on top to put off potential predators.
  3. Hippo also call Isimangaliso home, with the wetland parks watering holes a good place to find the gargantuan beasts.
  4. A large male kudu seemed unfazed by his photo being taken, and was by far the most photogenic animal encountered.
