Durban - Gooderson Natal Spa Hot Springs & Leisure Resort is set among ancient giant Cambrian boulders on a 550-hectare stretch of beautiful KwaZulu-Natal bushveld beside the picturesque Bivane River.

The resort is known for the hot mineral waters that rise along fault fissures and are heated at the source to between 36 and 45ºC. These “triple waters” contain healing chlorides, sulphates and carbonates which help relieve a number of ailments and allergies often symptomatic of the stresses and strains of modern-day living.

In addition to enjoying the thermal waters, the Gooderson Natal Spa Hot Springs & Leisure Resort offers many opportunities for recharging your batteries. You will stay over in one of the 80 large, comfortably furnished rooms – these include eight twins, 30 family rooms, 11 double rooms, eight luxury king size rooms as well as 23 self-catering units.

Guests can relax in the heated pools and large jacuzzi beside the Boulders Bar as well as the swimming pool alongside the reception.

If your family prefers recharging their batteries via energising activities and recreation, the Gooderson Natal Spa Hot Springs & Leisure Resort has plenty to offer. You can enjoy the thrills of the water park complete with a 45-metre super tube going into the pool near Boulders Bar, two 20m high speed slides and even a sprinkler/splash park for those under eight.

The resort also has a 22km mountain bike trail and running trail as well as a BMX track. MTB and BMX bikes are available for hire at the resort. There’s also the new Battlefields Paintball Arena and Obstacle Course.

If you’re into off-roading, you head out on the Thangami 4x4 Trail in the rocky and mountainous area between Vryheid, Nongoma and Ulundi or tackle two trails in the nearby Ithala Game Reserve. This is also home to four of the Big 5. With self-guided walking trails, picnic sites and braai facilities, it makes for a great day outdoors.

Alternatively, head for the clear waters of the picturesque Bivane Dam which is known for its birdlife and bass fishing.
