Johannesburg - You have not experienced the ultimate game of golf until you have enjoyed a day at the newly refurbished Sabi River Bungalows Golf Course.

Located within the Sabi River Sun Resort, just outside Hazyview, a wonderfully designed and very natural 18-hole golf course, nature trails and abundant bird life make it a great destination for golfers and their families.

In 2011, Southern Sun Resorts started a R5.5 million refurbishment project, upgrading the greens and bunkers on the front nine. This mammoth refurbishment will be complete this month, boasting enlarged tee box complexes, offering a challenging and most desirable course that avid golf enthusiasts should add to their bucket lists.

The Sabie River borders the property, and 15 of the holes have water coming into play, with all but one of the par-threes requiring a carry over water to reach the putting surface.

The fairways are never too wide and there are several opportunities for tight and testing tee shots.

A vast array of fauna and flora adds to this majestic course’s appeal, and to increase the excitement the resident hippo and crocodile come into play on the par-five 16th hole.

While golf enthusiasts are proving their mettle, the rest of the family can revel in the wide variety of activities on offer at the Sabi River Sun Resort.

Game drives, bush safaris, five swimming pools, three floodlit tennis courts, a bowling green, squash and volleyball courts, a jogging trail and the widely acclaimed Eden Spa promise to leave the whole family relaxed and rejuvenated. – Saturday Star
