Johannesburg - The weekend of March 21, 2014 has been set aside for De Hoek Country Hotel’s ballooning adventure weekend, in conjunction with Air Ventures Hot Air Ballooning.

The exquisite Magaliesberg mountain range, where this country hotel is situated, is an ideal area for this activity.

Weekend guests taking advantage of this event will be welcomed to De Hoek on Friday and have a leisurely afternoon before the presentation of hot air ballooning at 18.30pm. A delicious three course dinner will be served afterwards.

On Saturday morning at 5am, guests will meet on the Bridge Bistro for some tea or coffee and rusks while the crew prepare the balloons for flight.

Take off is scheduled for 6am and the flight will take about an hour. On landing, guests will enjoy chilled champagne and orange juice and certificates of bravery will be handed out by the pilot.

A sumptuous breakfast will be served on their return to the hotel.

Activities such as archery and mountain walks are available throughout the day. A light lunch precedes optional boules or lawn croquet before high tea and a signature De Hoek five-course dinner with wine pairing is a perfect ending to an exciting day.

A leisurely Sunday morning breakfast makes the weekend’s relaxation complete; a stroll on the lawns or a good read in the library gives you time out before you depart.

At a cost of R10 350.00 per couple, all inclusive, the De Hoek Ballooning Experience is an indulgent adventure.

Due to the success of previous Ballooning weekends, De Hoek’s luxury suites will be in demand.
