The Cape Town Diamond Museum is a non-profit organisation, dedicated to creating a new appreciation for diamonds in South Africa – a gift from Shimansky to the city of Cape Town.
The Cape Town Diamond Museum is a tourism destination, conveniently situated and pays a glittering tribute to the world’s most precious stones – diamonds.
Over the past year, the museum has seen an increase in local and international visitors with the most visitors being from South Africa, followed by the United Kingdom and United States, Germany, Australia and Sweden.
These statistics not only are an indication of the contribution that The Cape Town Diamond Museum makes to the tourism industry, but also of how South Africans support their local tourist destinations.
The Cape Town Diamond Museum invites local and international visitors to join in the celebration of World Tourism Day in September by experiencing a guided tour of the museum which features a number of authentic artefacts from our diamond mining history.
