Have you always wanted to take a cruise, but never got the chance? Well, if you take a trip on April 28 with MSC Sinfornia, you will be helping the children of the  Ukuthemba Foundation.

Setting sail from Cape Town for two nights at sea, the MSC Sinfonia is host to the 8th annual Ukuthemba Foundation fundraiser. All proceeds from ticket sales and the auction will go to Ukuthemba Foundation. It will be MSC Sinfonia’s penultimate South African cruise this summer before the ship heads off on its grand voyage back to Europe.

The cruise will also host a high-stakes auction, a glamorous black tie dinner, a blackjack tournament, dancing, and private performances with artists who are yet to be announced.

The auction, always a high point of MSC’s Ukuthemba fundraiser, has swiftly become known for its irresistible offerings, and this year is no exception. Cruise guests can look forward to bidding on contemporary art by established and emerging artists, designer jewellery, European ski holidays, exotic villa vacations, spa sessions and an exciting selection of smaller items so anyone can participate, no matter the size of their wallets. All proceeds from the auction go to the Ukuthemba Foundation.

Ukuthemba Foundation’s Chair Kim Killeen said no other event has ever been on offer in South Africa like this.

“What better way to raise money for a good cause while enjoying high jinks on the high seas!” said Killeen.

“The weekend promises glitz, glamour, incredible sea views, and of course, the novelty of it all. This fundraising cruise will have as much of a positive impact on our guests as it does on our children. Giving is always good for the soul, and MSC Cruises’ contribution makes it so very special.”

MSC Cruises South Africa Managing Director Ross Volk said they had a very special relationship with Ukuthemba Foundation.

“They work tirelessly to create safe, loving homes for children who have usually been rescued from incredibly difficult situations. We care deeply about their mission and are humbled to be able to bring our guests and this organisation together in such a wonderful way,” he said.
