If you are want to find a relaxing way to escape the pressures of modern life, then Eco Retreats canvas holidays in a teepee or yurt is the perfect way to enjoy nature. Located in the heart of the Dyfi Forest, one of the UK’s largest forests, this is a perfect glamping spot-just you and nature.  Michael and ChaNan Bonser run the 1, 300 acre organic farm, showcasing the landscapes of the mountains.

The team teases online that they have been offering glamping holidays since 2004, even before the phrase was coined.

Each of the tipis or yurts is situated in its own secluded and spacious location, spread out over more than 50 acres. The large space allows for a way to reconnect with loved ones, a solo trip or with your other half.

They combine the joy of living deep in the natural world with the luxury of a well equipped furnished space. The teepees have fine decor, from sheepskin rugs, romantic fabrics and a comfy double bed. A private loo and shower facilities are a walk away. There is a 2 ring gas stove for cooking, complete with all utensils, crockery and cutlery.

Despite being a luxury spot for a holiday, there is no electricity or wifi near the accommodation as the focus is to unwind and detox from the outside world.

Instead guests can spend their time roaming around the area, watching the sunset or receive a gentle therapy session, usually Reiki, and also take part in a twilight meditation that is part of the full packages.

“We are passionate in our commitment to the environment, in particular the land where we are based, and really hope to give you the chance to rediscover the magic of nature.

“Outdoor living has never been easier, or more comfortable. By day you can enjoy the light airiness of the tipi and by night nothing beats cuddling up next to a cosy log fire,” it says on its website.

The Welsh yurts, another accommodation feature, is rainproof nestled down close to the river, and a 20 foot diameter yurt in the Meadow.

The 20 foot yurt is set up with family groups in mind, and so also has two fold out single beds. The yurts each have their own wood-fired al fresco bath as well as a private shower and toilet unit situated just a few yards outside. The water comes down fresh from a spring higher up the site.

Your stay at Eco Retreats is for a minimum of two nights during which you will have the chance to enjoy a good balance of organised activity and the peaceful beauty of Tipi or Yurt living.

You can of course choose to stay more than two nights and many guests find a longer stay really gives them the chance to fully recharge the batteries.
