Crosswind landings at Dusseldorf Airport - video


Footage on YouTube of scary plane landings at Dusseldorf Airport has gone viral, with more than 2,8 million viewings in less than a month. German plane spotter Martin Bogdan filmed the nerve-racking footage, showing planes landing during strong crosswinds at the international hub.

If the plane lands at an angle to the runway, there is a massive strain on the landing gear, the Avogas? plane at 3min22 secs has it perfect, and kicks the rudder just before contact to line up the plane and wheels to the runway.

nothing scary, just great skill. watch small planes landing in similar conditions...now thats scary slipping in.
