Durban - Negotiations about the possibility of Air Seychelles flying direct to Durban’s King Shaka International Airport have began, the MEC for Economic Development and Tourism, Mike Mabuyakhulu has said.

He said this during a visit to the Seychelles to strengthen economic ties and co-operation – particularly in tourism – with the popular island nation.

Revelations about the talks and plans for direct flights from the Seychelles comes weeks after Mabuyakhulu told a trade and media conference that negotiations were taking place with a number of airlines about direct flights between Durban and India.

In another act of co-operation, the KZN Sharks Board is already helping the Seychelles install shark nets along its beaches, following two fatal shark attacks in 2011. - Daily News
