Bryan Habana plays rugby for Western Province, the Stormers and the Springboks on the wing. His Springbok international debut was against England in 2004. He has won numerous awards for his on-field abilities.
As a professional rugby player he has to travel a lot, but he also likes visiting places with his wife, Janine.
How widely have you travelled?
Over the past nine years or so, pretty widely, although we return to most of the rugby destinations every second or third year, such as Australia, New Zealand, the UK and France. Other trips have included the US, Russia, Dubai, Seychelles, Zanzibar, Mozambique, Windhoek and Argentina, to name a few.
What has been your favourite destination?
It has definitely got to be to Pangkor Laut, where my wife and I went on honeymoon. It’s an island resort in Malaysia.
Your worst experience on a holiday?
Arriving at a destination only to find your luggage has been lost.
Your funniest experience?
There’s too many to name only one. Having fun on tour is one of the perks of being a rugby player.
What do you avoid during a holiday?
Places that are too overcrowded.
Best meal abroad?
I love going to Wagamama’s – those noodle bars are in different cities around the world.
Your favourite place to have sundowners?
There’s no place like my balcony at home when I return from my travels.
What have you learnt from your travels?
How vastly different each destination is.
Ideal travelling companion?
My wife, Janine.
Culture vulture or adrenalin junkie?
A bit of both…
Greatest travel luxury?
Flying to St Petersburg in a private jet.
Holiday reading?
Having an iPad makes it easy to download magazines or books or play games.
Favourite drive?
Anywhere on the Garden Route.
Dream trip?
A three-week trip to New York with my wife.

Try to take as much in and get as much done, to experience wherever you are to the fullest.
