Johannesburg - The Self-Catering Getaways guide is now back on bookshelves. This popular guide contains details of over 1 800 self-catering venues across southern Africa. Previously published as the AA guide, it now carries the Essential Travel Info label.

“This popular guide first came out in 1988” says publisher Vanessa Sand. “The brand has changed but the useful content remains the same. The book is arranged by alphabetical town name within region within province. Sections are colour coded, there are two indexes – by town and by establishment – and maps to help you plan.”

The book is ideal to take with you on holiday and has enough information to keep you informed as you travel. However, it is also designed to be used in conjunction with the website www.booktravel.travel. Listings have webcodes and while the printed guide only carries brief information, the information listed on the website for establishments with corresponding webcodes is extensive, with up to 15 photos and detailed information regarding the accommodation and facilities at each establishment.

In the book and on the web, direct contact details are supplied to enable readers to make enquiries directly. The Self-Catering guide sells for R100 in store and is available at CNA branches, some branches of Exclusive Books or direct from the publisher.
