There are other more genuine reasons that make flying a chore - like the dude trying to take a skewer on board, or the passenger who insists on 4 pieces @ 20kgs must be hand luggage, or the guy going through security who cannot read about metal objects and goes through the scanner 4 times removing a different item each time....
