Pangolin Photo Safari is a company set up by photographers for photographers.
They cater for clients of all levels of expertise and enthusiasm and understand the frustrations of being a photographer among other safari goers who might be more interested in ticking off the Big 5 than capturing a rare and beautiful moment for posterity….with Pangolin their clients are put in the right place at the right time with the sun in the right position every time.
Newcomers and even seasoned wildlife enthusiasts alike are introduced to a whole new safari experience where colours, shapes and composition mean as much as the subjects themselves.
Pangolin also realises that not everyone can afford to buy a state of the art camera for what may be their only safari so they supply brand new Nikon D7000s with Sigma zoom lenses for every client at every seat. These are fantastic cameras that are set up for each activity depending on the conditions. The idea is to let the camera do the work and the Pangolin photographic experts help the client to better understand composition and how to take a great picture.
Pangolin is Africa's first permanent photo safari operation, based at the Chobe National Park in Botswana. They offer a wide range of safaris to both local and international travellers, including a weekend package targeted at SA residents looking for a bush experience with minimum time available to them.

A custom built boat and vehicle designed to get photographers into the best vantage points on both the river and in the bush. Each of these vehicles takes a maximum number of 8 guests in individual seats with camera supports for each.
They have recruited some of the world's top wildlife photographers (Ben Cranke, Albert Froneman, Roger de la Harpe, Ariadne von Zandbergen among others) to host an Advanced Photo Workshop once a month for 5 days for our more serious and accomplished clients (schedule available on http://pangolinphoto.com/)
They offer a 5 day Better Wildlife Photography course aimed at clients who have a basic understanding of how a camera works but want to learn skills specifically for wildlife photography. These are hosted by Pangolin's in-house tutors.
The Weekender package is unique in that you could leave JHB on a Friday morning, have a full day on Saturday and a game drive on Sunday morning before getting back that evening to JHB. This safari is available all year round.
They also offer packages for non-photographers featuring rounds of golf and spa treatments in the beautiful Mowana Lodge.
They offer a comprehensive travel solution, making all the bookings for the client including accommodation, flights, transfers in Botswana etc.
They will be offering ladies only photo trips in 2012 hosted by one of our female photographers.
