Dine in the Dark – This unique restaurant in Bangkok, started its roots in Switzerland, Berlin, Paris and then spread to Asia and USA. The name in itself explains what the restaurant is all about; on arrival you will be asked for a choice of fish, meat or vegetarian and that is all the information you will receive as you step into the darkness and await your meal
The restaurant is in utter darkness and your waiters will serve as your personal guide, leading you to your table and handing you your knives and forks. There is also a soft violinist playing in the background to set the mood. Even though you don’t know what you are eating, the food is amazing and the chef rotates the menu so if you go there more than once your taste buds will still be in for a surprise. Best of all, 10 percent of the profits go to the visually impaired in Bangkok.
Garden of Dream – This homely boutique restaurant is located in central Bangkok and is run my two former advertising and film executives, whose love and passion for food convinced them to open up a restaurant. Their signature dishes are roast mushroom penne with truffle oil. Your mouth will water with the tilapia fillet served with homemade pesto and vegetables. Guests can either sit at a remote, intimate table or at the chef’s table, where you can learn new ways to cook your favourite dish.
“Visitors should definitely try these unusual dining spots on their trip to Bangkok,” concludes Kuprasert.
