Breathtaking views, tantalising cocktails, spicy and sweet Thai food and some of the best DJ’s playing a variety of music. Bangkok is not only famous for its shopping and busy streets, but has some of the most unique wining and dining restaurants in the world.

“Bangkok’s night life offers something for everyone, whether you prefer a quite night out with your partner or hitting the town with the girls, Bangkok’s entertainment options are endless and taxis are available at all times, so don’t worry about not getting back to your hotel,” explains Thamanoon Kuprasert, general manager of Central, Eastern and Southern Africa for Thai Airways International.

Zuma – Located on the ground floor of St. Regis Hotel and is separated into two sections, the main restaurant and the lounge and bar area. The restaurant has four unique segments that guests can enjoy. Whether you prefer a relaxing dinner at the sushi bar, a secluded function in their private dining rooms or even sitting outside on the terrace, Zuma caters for all your dining desires. No need to worry about the sticky, humid air as Zuma provides aircon throughout the entire restaurant.

The lounge bar is most popular at night, for after dinner drinks or cocktails. Again, this it is separated into three areas to suit everyone’s preference. The bar & lounge is for relaxed drinks, while the Sake Bar is more a vibey location, perfect for trying out Zuma’s signature cocktails. If guests prefer wine, then they can head to the wine cellar, where there is over 1,500 bottles of wine to choose from.

Dine in the Dark – This unique restaurant in Bangkok, started its roots in Switzerland, Berlin, Paris and then spread to Asia and USA. The name in itself explains what the restaurant is all about; on arrival you will be asked for a choice of fish, meat or vegetarian and that is all the information you will receive as you step into the darkness and await your meal

The restaurant is in utter darkness and your waiters will serve as your personal guide, leading you to your table and handing you your knives and forks. There is also a soft violinist playing in the background to set the mood. Even though you don’t know what you are eating, the food is amazing and the chef rotates the menu so if you go there more than once your taste buds will still be in for a surprise. Best of all, 10 percent of the profits go to the visually impaired in Bangkok.

Garden of Dream – This homely boutique restaurant is located in central Bangkok and is run my two former advertising and film executives, whose love and passion for food convinced them to open up a restaurant. Their signature dishes are roast mushroom penne with truffle oil. Your mouth will water with the tilapia fillet served with homemade pesto and vegetables. Guests can either sit at a remote, intimate table or at the chef’s table, where you can learn new ways to cook your favourite dish.

“Visitors should definitely try these unusual dining spots on their trip to Bangkok,” concludes Kuprasert.
