Munich - Surrounded by mountains and meadows about 100km from Munich in Germany lies a special town.

Every 10 years, the residents put on a spectacular passion play that draws thousands of tourists.

The play has been performed every decade since 1634, when the villagers of Oberammergau were in the grips of poverty, plague and war.

The community pledged to continue performing it if they survived and, to this day, the villagers have continued bringing the story of Jesus of Nazareth to life.

In 2020, Oberammergau residents are to put on their 42nd passion play and Insight Vacations is offering guests the chance to attend one of the unforgettable performances.

With limited seats on offer, now is the time to get your name on the Insight Vacations’ waiting list. With business-class legroom on flights, concierge-style tour directors and a range of signature experiences, you are assured your pilgrimage will be memorable.

The play runs from May to October. It is performed in German, but the meaning is universal for Christians.
