EFF plans lawsuit against Lonmin

THE ECONOMIC Freedom Fighters (EFF) yesterday said it would institute a mass civil lawsuit against Lonmin for the death of 44 workers during the platinum strike in Marikana in August 2012. The party said it was not satisfied with the findings of the inquiry into the events that led to the deaths and it believed Lonmin should be held liable for the deaths. EFF spokesman Mbuyiseni Ndlozi said: “The EFF will institute a process of reparations against Lonmin to demand reparations and payments of all the families of the deceased mine workers.” – Staff Reporter
