JSE-listed information and records storage management group Metrofile Holdings' (MFL) Metrofile Records Management division has expanded its regional footprint in Gauteng by opening a new facility in Midrand.
The move follows a sustained increase in the monthly box storage growth, in addition to a growing need to cater to the Midrand market, Metrofile said on Monday.
Anthony Eedes, Storage General Manager for Johannesburg, says that an increase in the need for businesses to become more responsible in the way they manage and store their documents, not only in order to comply with various legislation but to operate more efficiently, has resulted in a growing demand for document storage services in SA.
“The new premises located in Midrand meets Metrofile's high standards and will enable Metrofile to effectively service its ever growing client base located in the Northern regions of the Johannesburg area.”
Eedes says the new Midrand facility is 2,600 square metres in total which increases Metrofile's Johannesburg regional warehouse capacity to 36,026 square metres.
“At first the Midrand facility will primarily offer box storage services, with the potential to extend the branch to include a medium sized image processing hub with a small office area for operations, sales and administration.”
Eedes says the new premises will also be easily accessible for Metrofile's growing client base in Gauteng. “Our new facility will ensure that we can effectively service the ever-growing Gauteng business sector,” concludes Eedes.
Metrofile is represented in the six major provinces of SA, Mozambique and through the CSX brand has contracts in numerous other African countries. It operates from 26 facilities covering more than 73,000 square metres of warehousing space and manages more than 21 billion records on behalf of its customers. - I-Net Bridge
