Mondi: Dividend up as profit grows

MONDI yesterday raised its final dividend as full-year profit gained 8.8 percent. Profit excluding one-time items rose to e481 million (R6.4 billion) in 2014 compared with e442m the previous year, the paper and industrial bags producer said. The company will pay a total dividend of e0.42, an increase of 17 percent. “The group benefited from a general reduction in variable costs compared to the prior year,” the company said. Its shares gained 1.1 percent to R230.50 yesterday. – Bloomberg
