Johannesburg - Woolworths has opened its ninth store in Namibia, the retailer said on Wednesday.

“This new store in Windhoek is another example of our ongoing commitment to our African business as we deliver on our strategy to be a leading Southern Hemisphere retailer,” spokeswoman Paula Disberry said in a statement.

The new 2 400 square metres store was in The Grove mall and claimed to be Namibia's largest food market at 480 square metres. The retailer now had 250 employees in Namibia. - Sapa
