Adapt IT expected its annual results to show an increase in earnings a share of between 50 percent and 60 percent for the year to June, the information and communication technology (ICT) group said yesterday.

The company – which is involved in the development and support of niche ICT application solutions – also expected annual headline earnings a share to increase by as much as 60 percent over the same period, it added in a JSE announcement.

Last year the company posted earnings a share of 22.25c, while headline earnings a share came in at 22.27c.

The JSE’s listing requirements state that companies are obliged to publish a trading statement if they believe that their results for the period reported on will change by more than 20 percent.

Adding to the performance of Adapt IT is the upgrading of North West-based Orbit technical and vocational education and training college to the ITS Integrator 3 product. Orbit offers a wide range of vocational and occupational programmes.

Adapt IT’s ITS Integrator 3 is a modular software solution suitable for small, medium and large institutions, supplied and supported by the ICT group.

According to the company, the college stands to improve its administration with extensive self-service functionality, improved automation and better record keeping with the ITS Integrator 3 product.

“The upgraded system allows users in various areas more flexibility and options in doing their work; additional settings and restrictions give system administrators better control over end-user actions and processing,” the company said.

The company said it was working with Orbit as an adviser during the implementation of the solution and the subsequent support and maintenance phase.

Adapt IT shares fell 0.72 percent to R8.24 yesterday.
