Cape Town – The power system is stable but “tight” with no load shedding in progress, Eskom said on Sunday morning.

“Only two hours and 20 minutes of load shedding has been implemented in the past 56 days. And, since it was stage one load shedding, this meant that 96 percent of South Africans still received uninterrupted electricity supply on that day,” the parastatal said in a statement.

“Eskom continues to make progress with its programme of planned maintenance but the system remains tight. We urge all South Africans to partner with us to save 10 percent of their electricity usage throughout the day.”
